Meeting with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic

The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Jeenbekov had a meeting with the Business Ombudsman Mr. Robin Ord-Smith and exchanged views on measures to improve the system of protection of rights and freedoms of business entities in the country. The President expressed confidence that the experience of Robin Ord-Smith will help to establish effective mechanisms to protect businesses and investments, improve the legislative framework and eliminate existing barriers for becoming effective partners for the state bodies and entrepreneurs. President Jeenbekov highlighted the importance of improving existing mechanisms of pre-court disputes between entrepreneurs and state bodies. He also expressed confidence that the Business Ombudsman Institute will be able to gain the trust of entrepreneurs and partners in the state agencies. The Business Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic Robin Ord-Smith thanked the President for the personal support he had given to establishing the position of the Business Ombudsman and the Business Ombudsman Institute. Continued support from the leadership would be essential to ensure the mandate and objectives set for the Business Ombudsman were to be fulfilled
