Regional visits: southern regions of Kyrgyzstan - Osh and Batken

The Business Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Robin Ord-Smith had a business visit to Batken and Osh regions of Kyrgyzstan, where he held a series of meetings with the regional and municipal authorities, and the business community. The Business Ombudsman met with the Government Representative in Batken Mr. Abdrakhmanov, the Prosecutor of Batken region Mr. Halmurzayev. In Osh the Business Ombudsman held meetings with the Government Representative in Osh region Mr. Zhylkybayev and the Vice-mayor of Osh city Mr. Turduev, During the meetings, issues of cooperation and support for entrepreneurship were discussed, as well as the role, mission and mandate of the BOI in protecting the legitimate interests of entrepreneurs from actions or inactions of state bodies, local government, public sector enterprises, and its officials. Separate meetings with entrepreneurs and business representatives were held in each region. During the questions and answers session, BOI representatives explained the criteria for accepting complaints, a timeline for complaints to be reviewed, and ways available to file complaints
