"Kyrgyzstan: Digitalization of regions” investment forum

Business-ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Robin Ord-Smith took part in the investment forum “Kyrgyzstan: Digitalization of regions” held on November 12, 2019 in London and organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Mr. Ord-Smith moderated the Forum panel on information technologies in the context of developing the investment climate in the Kyrgyz Republic. The purpose of the Forum was to present Kyrgyzstan as an attractive investment destination for potential partners from the UK. The delegation from Kyrgyzstan was presented by the 1st Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mr. Kubatbek Boronov, the advisor of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Pankratov, Chairmen of the Investment Agency, Ministry of Tourism and other representatives of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. The current situation in the country, business environment, Government plans towards business and investment development as well as the role of informational technologies were among the presentations shared with the investors. Current investors already executing their projects in Kyrgyzstan shared their experience of doing business in the country. This is the first Forum in which the Business-ombudsman took part in a new role - as an authorized person to protect of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of business entities. The forum was a great opportunity to present Business-ombudsman Institute, its role, and its mission in protecting business interests.
