Successfully resolved case: the entrepreneur and municipal authority

“Thanks to the assistance of the Business Ombudsman our long-lasting issue has been resolved”, an entrepreneur expresses gratitude after submitting a complaint to the Business Ombudsman. The business entity complained to the Business Ombudsman against the "Bishkek Passenger Transport Enterprise" municipal enterprise on the fact of the absence of payment under the previously signed contracts for a total amount of 2 million 994 thousand 510 soms. After analyzing all information related to the complaint, and receiving clarifications from the parties involved, the representatives of the Business Ombudsman Institute made efforts to reach the mutual peaceful regulation of the dispute. As a result of the involvement of the Business Ombudsman to the negotiation between the business entity and the municipal enterprise, the municipal enterprise within a week started to fulfill the obligation and made a first payment in the amount of 400 thousand soms. The rest of the payment was backed-up with written obligations. The Business Ombudsman, Robin Ord-Smith remarked: “I am delighted that working with the municipal enterprise led to constructive cooperation and settlement of the issue. We were able to secure an amicable solution to this complaint and I would like to thank the management of the enterprise for their engagement and professional cooperation to resolve the situation”. The Business Ombudsman is an authorized person to protect the rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests of entrepreneurs and business entities, acting on the basis of Resolution №647 of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic from 31.12.2018.
