How business entity saved 272 thousand som of pre-paid taxes

The branch of ProEMES LLC in the Kyrgyz Republic formed an overpayment of income tax according to the results of 2019. The organization applied to the tax authority with a request to set off 272 thousand som of overpayment to pay off other types of tax due. The tax authority denied the request. Attempts to administratively resolve the issue did not lead to success. Then the representative of the organization decided to file a complaint to the Business Ombudsman: he filed out a special form on the website www.boi.kg and attached supporting documentation. The Business Ombudsman decided to investigate the case and notified the complainant via email. Specialists of the Business Ombudsman Institute investigated the complaint and contacted the tax authority on the case. As a result, the tax authority offset the excessively paid tax amount: 272 thousand soms were set off against the tax debt for other types of taxes. “This case is clear evidence of the protection of business rights.
